Be An UPSTANDER, Not A Bystander

Upstanders are people who stand up against demeaning language, slurs, or jokes about anyone’s race, sexuality, gender, looks, age, any kind of disability, religion, class, politics, or other differences. Whether someone is being bullied in person or online, upstanders take note and mobilize the entire community to end harassment, threats, and violence.

Bystanders are silent. Upstanders live out loud.

Take the pledge to stop the #Trumpbullying. Become an UPSTANDER--

When I see or hear Donald Trump and his supporters bullying, perpetrating prejudice and spreading hate:

  • I will speak up! I will call it bullying. I will let others know that bullying is unacceptable and dangerous in a presidential campaign.

  • I will encourage friends, family members, and colleagues to speak up and stand up.

  • I will reach out and lend my active support to those who have been the target of abusive actions or words.

  • I will remain vigilant, vocal, and visible for as long as is necessary.

  • I will align myself with others who value civility and decency. There is strength in community. I will seek help from trusted friends, colleagues, professionals, and other resources if I don’t know what to do or need support to take action.

  • I won’t become a bully myself. I won’t match their crude insults and actions with my own angry jabs. I’ll state my disagreement in ways that are strong yet respectful.

It’s scary enough that the American President, Donald Trump, is a blatant, unapologetic bully- ( I bet, if asked, he would probably admit it – and argue it’s a virtue). But at least as scary, is that nearly 1/2? of the voting U.S. voted for him anyway. Therefore, does that mean that 1/2? of the U.S. believes that bullying is an American value & building block? – akin to freedom and opportunity? How long have we been like that? How can an attitude that wide-spread be reversed?

In the Huffington Post: “Why The New Child Rape Case Filed Against Donald Trump Should Not Be Ignored”. The media should be jumping on this, which in my view, is Dumpy’s most disgusting, wretched act in his entire despicable life. The public needs to have this information before Nov. 8. Why is this not given more coverage in the media?

The novel “Atlanta” showed us that everybody can be bought. How can we buy out this billionaire? I gave $2.00 to Hilary. Can you? Should Dumpy Trumpy wish to poison a person he considers an enemy, only a pill can be dropped in a glass of orange juice or bullet in his head. . . He scares the hell out of me.

Wolf Blitzer addressed Romney’s request for Trump to disclose tax returns. He asked Corey Lewandowski, Trump Campaign Manager if he would release them. Mr. Lewandowski replied, “Why should we let facts get in the way of what the reality is?” This is just unbelievable and scary.

I think we are confronted with a major alarm threatening the fame and legacy of the republican party by having Mr. Trump as the front runner and getting close to the nomination and I think that the ultimate response for that should be that either one of the two contenders, Rubio or Cruz, should drop off the race for the sake of the other one and possibly any of the rest of the contenders that are loyal to the establishment of the republican party to do the same so that to give enough room for a viable candidate to win the nomination and that should take place as soon as possible before it is too late.

trump is a con-artist and is selling Americans a bill of bully. He is so scary and needs to be stopped. Congress did this out rage of anger and should be ashamed of themselves. This is horrible for America and scares me to death.

trump is the worst thing to happen to American politics in my lifetime. I am an Irish German male from Queens, New York now living in Kalamazoo, Michigan. If we fail to learn from history, we are condemned to repeat it. No more Hitlers !

Trump is just like Hitler, why is it that more people can not see the similarities!! America is already great we don’t need a bully who can’t handle being called out on anything being our Commander in Chief

The fact that England had to have a session of Parliament to decide whether or not to allow Trump into their country says alot about how the world views Trump. He is as disgusting to people around the globe as he is to people here in America. America is already GREAT! We don’t need a bully turning this country into a dictatorship and stealing from Americans. His vitriol is so disgusting I can’t stand to look at him! Get him OUT of the GOP! Figures they would let someone so gross into the mix. They pay attention to nothing but committing their acts of racism towards Obama and it consumes their lives. So of course Trump slipped in without being vetted first. It’s the GOP’s mess! Make them clean it up! They might not be smart enough to do it.

1990 article about Trump. It usually takes a few decades to create, reveal, recreate……reorganize, learn from mistakes and reinvent… hush money, wait for witnesses to die off, forget or choose to forget, and wait for proof to be buried in lost or boxed files. A narcissistic sociopath never changes…ever. The only thing a narcissistic sociopath will change is the facts. When enough memories fade and truth is difficult to recall…the old con will surface as the new sheriff. From where I sit, viewing the “Super Tuesday” message he delivered, it looks like Chris Christie was his first arrest. Did you see his face? Was he a hostage on that stage? Was a bomb strapped to his back?? More like….Oh My God how am I ever going to get out of this and not lose everything!!

How did things get this way? Read Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. The theory presented brings up some valid ideas. We should all open our minds and our hearts and realize just how connected we are one to another. People like Trump a.k.a. Drumpf, will always be in our midst but if we stand together and show our displeasure by not supporting their businesses, hotels, university (questionable), products, etc. we can show them by our actions and reactions that their behavior will not be tolerated in the tribe. Shape up or ship out. We the people have all the power when we stand together in our belief of how we should be treating each other by simply banding together and not giving our money to them. Donald Trump will not help save our planet. He will accelerate the death of our only home and the extinction of our culture. Could be a good thing I guess…..

I think he is a very arrogant and evil person who has no business running our country. He represents nothing but hate, anger, and fear. Only coward’s and evil people exhibit his kind of behavior. I’ll even say Ted Cruz is the same type of person as well. He just hides it a little better than Trump does. The whole Republican party are bad people. They need to be stopped.

America is not a country that spreads hate, builds walls, makes fun of people with disabilities, hates all Muslims, round up Hispanics, makes fun of prisoners of war and the list goes on. This is not America. I don’t care about his money, his company or how great he thinks he is. I care about our country and what message we are giving to the rest of the world. Things may not be perfect but you don’t fix it with hate and bigotry. How do you not know who David Duke is? Americans we are all immigrants, we all know someone with a disability, we all know a Muslim, we all know what happened when Germany built a wall. We all know what hate can do. Voting is a right to be taken seriously, it’s not something to do because you think it’s a way to hurt someone. Democratic or republican think what you are doing before you do it.
